At our last dance party on Friday, Aug. 21st, our dancers were “in the mood” for a feel-good dance event. DJ Random Select provided us with an hour’s worth of toe-tapping fun that provided numerous 90s hits and swing jazz tunes. How cool is that? Well, those in attendance know exactly how cool it was. Chillin’, in fact! When was the last time you hit the dance floor to The Pixies’ “Gigantic” or Luscious Jackson’s “Naked Eye?” It was a great night.

Sorry for the delay–I guess I’m still in full summer vacation mode. But the passion and high energy from our last dance party, Friday August 7th, should carry us up til now. My delay in writing the event review for last time means our next dance party is quite near. Bill Haverchuck (played by actor Martin Starr) is everyone’s favorite geek on the 1999 TV series Freaks & Geeks. What a joy it was to follow Bill’s example and dance to the soundtrack of the series. Last week’s Fifth Friday dance party (July 31st) was a lot of fun. Did everyone enjoy themselves as much as I did? Many thanks to dj grrrilla beats for providing us with our music for the evening. Wait–hold up! Even though you may have missed our dance party last Friday, we dance again THIS FRIDAY, Aug 7th. It’s the first Friday in August and we’re welcoming DJ Big Balla to get our toes tapping. Please join us to enjoy as much of the summer as we have left. Laura has been coming to DDPP since 2009 and has been a den mother since 2012. She was nervous to come the first time, but eventually she took the plunge, fell in love, and never looked back. She spends a good chunk of her time curating oddly-themed playlists because she loves when a good mood comes together. She learned how to dance at weddings and backyard bonfires with her mother's friends, so she's always got slick moves on the dance floor. When she's not dancing, she's being a rock librarian at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, snuggling with her cat, or hanging with her friends. But let's be honest. Most of the time she's dancing.
