Another Calorie Burner, for sure

“Yeah–OH YEAH!”

Last Friday, June 17th, we rocked out to a boisterous mix courtesy of DJ Harvey.  It was a very hot night–both literally and figuratively–as we sweated and pounded our feet to the playful playlist.  We were all feeling it during ‘Cruel Summer’ in the heat of that small room at Martell’s.  I do believe that this was the first time in the history of DDPP-Akron that we experienced the B-52’s followed by Alice Cooper.  Someone correct me if I’m wrong.  But IT WORKED–and that’s how we like it!  Thanks again to DJ Harvey ❤

Our next dance party will be Friday July 1st at 7:30 pm at Martell’s dance studio in the heart of Highland Square.  We will be back in the big room with our audio problems behind us.  It will be cooler temps but don’t think you won’t be sweating!  I’m expecting a hot mix from our next DJ–whoever it is 🙂 Leave the yard work for another time and join us to dance, dance, dance!

Yard work–YUCK!

Thanks to Bad Postcards for the image.

Mascara & Tears

Fun was had by all at the last dance party, Friday June 3rd.  We swayed and snapped our fingers to a playlist of Goth songs that reminded us how much fun one can have while wallowing in misery and alienation.  No sarcasm here:  I’m a huge fan of the music genre.  And I wasn’t the only one enjoying myself on the dance floor!

Thanks to DJ Necronomi-Tron for this enjoyable playlist (see below).  He also reminded us how great it is to have such diverse styles of music for our dance parties.  No two DDPPs are alike–and that’s how we like it!

As those in attendance know, we had some technical difficulties before we could start.  We’re having trouble with the speakers for the sound system.  We are working on getting them replaced–IMMEDIATELY.  If you have an extra set of medium-sized audio speakers you are not using, please consider donating them to us.

Take the easy way and give in…to DDPP-Akron!

Our next dance party is Friday June 17th, 7:30 pm at Martell’s Dance Studio.  Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water, if you like,  and be prepared for one hour’s worth of foot-stomping fun!
